ordinary moments

Suddenly it has hit me that perhaps I do not even fully realize that these are the sweetest days of my life...the little guy reawakens this, stomping through puddles, delighting in squishing the mud...wow, this really is perfect! Forget the dirt, the laundry, the never ending piles of shoes at the door. Every time my teenaged daughter chews my ear off about some seemingly trivial rant on her friends or her make up, I must remember to pause. Breathe it in. Each time my 9 year old shares the latest absurdities of  freeze tag or Batman I breathe.
This is it baby. As sweet as it gets. I may feel like I am accomplishing very little(yeah I do often feel that), yet actually the world is right here at home. For as we navigate the daily ups and downs in this little space we call home, we are forever guiding the next generation on their path. So skinned knees, chocolate chip cookies and after dinner strolls suddenly seem absolutely divine! It is these ordinary moments we must embrace...
